The drive.
South Beach is roughly 12 to 16 miles from MIA, depending on where you’re staying. In light traffic the drive takes about 25 to 35 minutes; at rush hour, on Friday evenings and on big event weekends it can take much longer.
The usual route runs east on the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) and across Biscayne Bay on the MacArthur Causeway into South Beach. For Mid-Beach and North Beach, the Julia Tuttle Causeway is often quicker. Your chauffeur picks the route on the day based on live traffic.
